THE kaboom whomper stomper !!

thanks to a milosancho thread a few weeks ago --
i bought a pair of these MISSION (UK) #50 speakers-
6 ohm // 50 watts
identical to the set they make under the Denon brand

they sound deeper than my kabooms --
move ALOT more air from the front vents --
(cooled off my pits)

afraid to blow them out --so cant really say they
play as loud as kabooms --
but right up till..... 'pre-splode' --
they are the bomb

What's that flat panel between the tuner and tape deck? are there controls, CD or LP player or something behind there? Otherwise, it would seem like a big waste of valuable real estate.

under the panel/door are bass-treble-balance and loudness dials

Oh. I would prefer more visible buttons and switches. TOTL boxes are feature rich. BOTL boxes are featureless and plain. Hiding the controls is counterproductive, I think since having lots of buttons/switches/controls is nothing to be ashamed of.

Inside space is not "prime" real estate because it is hidden and has no visual effect or human relations (interface). The valuable real estate I'm talking about is retail space, that which is front and foremost in everyone's eyes. The front and top panels.
