Spent the weekend in Hall's Gap again, it's so good to get out into the bush. Did a lot of fishing but didn't catch much, my mate caught a nice rainbow trout which was a surprise as it's not the season for them. Caught some small redfin (English perch) but we are scoping the river areas for the next trout season

Sorry about the poor photos, only had my iPhone on me. Any Au members should visit this area at least once, it has the largest collection of rock art in southern Oz and recently they have found a living prehistoric damselfly, the area also has a number of endemic plants and some endangered fauna. Hall's Gap is literally covered with Kangaroos (hundreds) and plenty of Emus and some Echidna & Wallabies.

Oh ****, there is definately something wrong with my computer - I can't see the photos of all the boomboxes violating nature! :hmmm:

That place looks deserted. That's my kind of holiday - no tourists!!

James.... :-)

This is the creek below the dam wall (lake Belfield) when I was up here over new years the creek was bone dry but they are currently letting water out. Spent half an afternoon here just relaxing beside the water while :weed: Good times with mates

This last place is down the southern end of the Grampians, it's thick with bait fish, yabbies and small redfin. Only a small resi but it's fun to fish there
We have been getting the best colored sunsets recently but my phone camera doesn't do the justice

I've been saying it for 12 years now:
"I will visit Australia."
It's not about the money. I can't get more than 2 days off at a time. Even when I'm in FL, I'm working 4 hrs. a day.
"I will visit Australia."
:-)

Here is some pics I stole off the net to give a better perspective of where I was

The Grampians

grampiansnatlparkvic.jpg

Day 1 - Moora Moora Reservoir for bait then off to Wartook

Wartook reservoir - I didn't have any pictures from here as I didn't have my phone. The reservoir is on a plateau right up in the ranges

Day 2 - Lake Bellfield, the dam wall from the other photos can be seen, the town of Hall's Gap where I stayed is just out of frame

Wow that is beautiful country! Too bad mostly what you hear about in Austrailia regarding the wild over here (it seems) are the critters that can kill you. :-/
