Once upon a time there was a book .
This book was called ''The Boombox Project''.
A Big-little boy was so eager to get it back in 2011
(only 10 years ago!) just to check its colourful pages featuring all kinds
of strange little or big electronic stuff called Radio Cassete Recorders made back in the late 70s and 80s.
So he ordered it at his local bookstore and after some time he had it in his hands.
He always had a soft spot for those strange machines but
when he read the book it was like some kind of lightning striked him and since then
he decided step by step and with lots of patience to make his dream come true and save from disappearance
most of those weird colourful amazing pieces of music and technology history just for the shake of old times
And for the new generations to NOT forget the roots of many subcultures and how music used to be listened
and shared back in this Glorious Golden Era.
So he kept on collecting and collecting
The years passed by and many woderful pieces were saved
but he was wondering about one piece featured in its pages , one that was not so easily found
one that was such a beautiful piece , one that was not to be seen anywhere else than in the book.
This piece was called Candle JTR-1251
All this up until yesterday !! When he found a YOKO ! By saying Yoko ofcourse this is not Yoko Ono.
This machine will get the treatment it deserves and will be cherished like most of the units found
all these years.
The pages of the ''Boombox Project are like the Panini STICKER Albums for this big-little boy
trying to collect and fulfill the album which is not as easy as it may seems but at least he tries !
Never thought about the many akas that this unit may have had but here is
Some more info on this piece which ofcourse it can be be found here (where else?):
and another one with different speaker configuration but check closely and its definitely the same boombox.
Here it is the YOKO
