Just received it this morning - what a monster! Much bigger than I anticipated, heavy and super loud too!
Great condition - just a few blemishes here and there, but overall, I would say 9.5 out of 10!

Wow, soooo clean  . Love the green-red meters  . I have 515Z but is only with one red meter. Yea, and this nuclear freaks sound really nice. Congrats. So is it H or Z model ?

Terry's cornered the market on the all the variations of this box down here, but he's more obsessed with the 555.
Is there much difference between them?

Well done Vladi, it'll look a lot better once you drape one of your lovely models on her though!

Rock On.

I've spent several days listening to this Sharp, and all I can say is WOW. By far exceded my expectations. I like how it sounds even better than M70 - totally unexpected.
I would say this is my fourth best sounding boombox after GF-777, M90 and BigBen. I still have to evaluate the Pioneer SK-900 though, but nonetheless - this is the best mid size box of all I own

I agree on the assessment Vlad. I think only the unorthodoxed asemmytrical look makes it less desirable then the M70. It's also built like a tank, right? All I know is I love mine. Now go shoot some more Pics, this time with the devil.... ;-)

I love the sound of my 515 so much as well . And now love the freaky look of them too. Its a lot better build quality from 777 and 767 for comparo . Actually is the most sturdy box ive ever touch  .

Yes, got the Pioneer - it's pretty filfthy - seems like it spent at least a year outside - the dirt is almost half an inch thick on it. And a few parts fell off in shipping, so I'll need to glue them back on - but it does sound like a little marvel  But I was prepared for a high quality sound. This Sharp though - it took me by surprise. I wasn't expecting much, so when I got it and listened to it and compared to my National Panasonics, Sony, JVCs and other Sharps - it just sounds better. Very undervalued boombox, in my opinion. Yes, built like a tank! :-D

vladi you got a great deal there :agree: not that many collectors have this or the 555 so many will not know how good they really do sound, to be honest if the 9696 would have sounded like the 666 more than sure it would have been a total winner... i have the 555 but its missing that small alumi plate which has the alpd on it ,, i belive its known for these boxes to lose those plates alot ,,,so enjoy your new toy
