The Akai has landed, Akai AJ-495

So i picked up one of these years ago in a really sorry state, I loved it but it was just too rough to display or use and i have been looking for another one ever since. A few weeks ago one popped up on an ad site in Europe, in stepped Hurb to secure it for me and post it to me.

It arrived this weekend, I was so excited to get home. Not a grail by any means but i have been looking for this unusual box for so long... massive thanks to Hurb for being such a gent in helping me with this.

Rebelted but when i press play it shuts of straight away so more investigation need and in currently stumped, bloody soft touch deck!

I had one with the same deck issue. I had to experiment with different belts. In the end had to press play twice to get it to latch.
