That time I cracked the case on my M90

Was moving some stuff in my garage, M90 was sitting on a shelf. A 5" heavy caster fell right on top....cracked the case. Tragic to say the least.

This happened yesterday. Admittedly this is my 2nd M90 and it is in very rough shape. Needs a lot of work including missing the entire tape mechanism. But the case was in ok condition, aside from one of the antenna post being broken, it was good, no cracks. Now.....giant crack across the top. Likely cracked a couple of screw posts inside. I'll need to get in there to see the extent of the damage.

Oh well. I know this can be repaired....#1001 on the to-do list.

"Tragic" - I vote this being the understatement of the year!

I wish you all the best whenever you get round to the task.

:jawdrop: :jawdrop: :jawdrop: What else is there to say except good luck with getting it back to top condition. I'm sure there will be plenty of guys who can offer assistance and tips.

it'll live lol. i know this **** aint' funny but wtf can you do besides the best you can , just another battle scar for the king. only an m90 can take that kind of hit and still survive . if it was a gf 777 that happened to i hate to think how many pieces it would be in.

Thank you all for the condolences. I guess I should be thankful it was a clean break, no small pieces to glue back, just a crack to repair. I've seen some work done on other boxes and the results were amazing. I'll look over those threads to get some guidance on a proper repair.

Yeah, when this happened I was stunned.....in shock. I had to step away from it.....drank a beer and I felt better about it. Still sucks though.

I know members have had luck with some sort of solvent / glue? That welds the plastic back together.

Others please chime in

Yeah that really stinks bad. But I might be able to help as I have a spare rear M90 case. Not mint but I think in better shape than yours. You might be able to use mine and your together to make a decent one. Good luck!!!
