On my Japanese Sharp GF's the center pin is Negative, on my Toshiba RT S83 the center pin is Positive.

Is 2 amps enough? It would probably be drawing close to that with the cassette blasting full.

Try with measuring the output value of the transformer.
I have couple of new purchased PRC transformer and they give output with values 1/2 of the nominal

I have not plugged it in or tried it....Thought I would ask the question first.

I was looking at 110v to 12v power converters so I can run my 100v Japanese radios without fear. I also might have a 220v radio coming from Europe and thought this would be a simple answer, just run them off of the 12v power input.

Then I found this power supply and I was like..

DO NOT USE THAT CONVERTER!!
Now I remember that I tried with exactly such converter (2.0A) to powered my hitachi 8080 and the chips were burnt
Please do all the necessary checks first to be sure that something will not burn.
I am not sure 100% in my estimation, but I think that Norm should knew much more about this.
