I've been admiring the Telefunken Studio 1M/1 for a while. I've been meaning to find the right one and have it restored by a pro but I'm not sure where to start. I'm equally concerned with aesthetics and sound quality. I especially want the tape deck performance to be dialed in. Is there a best place to have this kind of work done? I'm in southern California but don't mind shipping.

I'd also like it to say Made in Western Germany but those seem pretty rare. I guess they stopped printing that at some point.

I know someone in the Santa Ana area who has worked on several boomboxes before. Not sure if a Telefunken is within his skill zone, but it's worth a shot. He's Vietnamese though and isn't very effective over the phone.

If you are in LA area then check my resto efforts here and S2G (and my hobby-site square-2.com). If you like what you see then PM me: you will pay for parts, as needed, I will have fun fixing the beauty
