so i have a techsonic j-1 that my mom gave me when i moved out. it was hers when she was a kid so i just pulled it out wanting to hear how it sounds well i plug it in and it doesnt work right the tape will play on one side but nothing comes out then i plug in the aux and the lights are showing audio but nothing comes out then i plug in the mic and the same thing. so i go to take it apart just to check out the inside not knowing anything about electronics and man i couldnt believe what i saw it just look so sad like it had been tookin apart 20 times before. 
and not only that all the screws were all different so i knew.ha but i was wondering if it was worth fixing or just selling and if anyone in the Sacramento area knew where i could get it fixed i really wanna keep the box just because it was my first and my mom gave it to me but idk please any words would help thanks

That Techsonic was featured prominently in the 1989 Spike Lee film, "Do the Right Thing," a great movie if you've never seen it. I have limited tech skills myself, but I'm sure some of the guys here can tell you what you need to do to get it going again.
