Technidyne td-10000 or helix wheely 5000 resistor

Hello I found a burnt resistor on my technidyne boombox right behind the power switch I tested it close I came was 5.7 ohms if anyone has a close up or know what it is that would help me in my situation lol

Would it make sense to put a higher wattage resistor in place, or would that risk blowing out other parts?
It doesn't look like a fusible.

I would stand them higher off the board to prevent scorching the pcb. I suppose you can install a 1W resistor instead but those leads are significantly thicker, can’t say if the through-hole is sized for that.

Thanks looks like the tape motor when pressed kept burning it out the resistor tested the motor and was not working right the belts that melted around the pulley must of wore it out.

I also did that as well little more off the board just incase it happened again so won't scorch the board thanks for the info much appreciated.

Prob burn something else out if I did I gues they chose that certain type of resistor with its ohms value for a reason I could never figure how they know what too use in situations when making things like these.
