We were on the way home from dropping off our daughter at an event when we spotted a newish shop open that does home clearances with their number on the sign above the shop.
So while driving past we gave them a call and asked if they ever get 80's stereos.
The guy said they don't usually bother with them and leave them then said "Oh wait, we have one on the shelf" he asked his mate what it was and he came back on saying "it's a Sharp".
We turned round and went back. I wasn't expecting much and this is what I got for next to nothing. A rather nice little box to be honest.
I've got it in bits at the moment and first impressions are that it is cleaning up very nicely. Couldn't let it go - and they have taken my number and will be getting more and giving me a call! Happy days!

I reckon that'll scrub up nicely...well done, better than anything I've ever found in a house clearance shop!

Congrats Dave! It definitely has the 'street' look going on, with the bulged out woofer grilles. Boomboxes are certainly getting scarce now, but this shows that some are still out there!

Thanks all, gave it a clean over and it came up pretty nice. There are one or two marks here and there but overall pretty good I think.
Certainly a nice box to carry around and take on trips etc without fear of it getting damaged  :-D

Great snag! Cleaned up really nice. I am looking for a medium-smaller sized box but money is tight, courtesy of the tax man. I have actually employed my Dad in the hunt. He liquidates foreclosed homes. Fingers crossed.
Again, box looks great!

that was a great little find for you there docs-ive had of course the 6060 and while i preferred the subsequent 6161 i got i think the 6363 is a lovely member of the 6060 family and the best looking by far.never had one and will look out for one now,and its great you made a contact in the shop who will hopefully come up with plenty for you in the future.my guy like that has gone quiet on me but saw him the other day and he says he's picking things up again now so it shouldnt be long before i see some more.great price paid too-thought the days of cheap priced boxes were past-youve regenerated all hopes-way to go docs!
