I just want to send out a very special thank you to my friend Norm (aka Superduper). As many of you know I purchased a Sanyo M9994k from China off ebay. Upon arrival the exterior was perfect, easily a 9.8 out of 10, but there were some operational issues. There was static in the controls, the radio reception was very poor, and the cassette was not functioning. I sent a pm to Norm because I remembered a post of his that mentioned his knowledge of the M9994. He answered my pm and agreed to take a look at it if I shipped it to him. Turns out he lives 30 minutes away from me. How lucky is that?! So I went to Norm's house and we talked for about 3-4 hours and he was kind enough to show me his vast collection and share his abundance of knowledge with me. After meeting Norm I was happy to leave my newest prize with him. During the repair process Norm was very informative with the entire process and updated me every step of the way. He explained the involved process of disassembling the entire unit and the diagnosis and cleaning involved in addressing the issues my radio had. When he let me know my radio was done I showed up at his home for another informative and enlightening conversation. Through it all I have come away with this having found a new friend, a knowledgable technician and a great person in Norm. I am glad to have met him because I know very few people as kind and dedicated as he. So Norm thank you for a great job on the M9994k (I am listening to it right now) because you truly are Superduper.
