Found it offered in the net for the price of an happy meal at Macy´s :-D
But the bad thing: other side of austria. :-/

But the seller was willing to ship it and pack it well.

Yesterday the parcel arrived.
Hm, looking a bit small for that monster machine... :hmmm:

I used to dream of owning this box back in the 80's

They sold it in Harrods - 30 wpc if I recall
and
300 quid!

I like the odd/same speakers - if you know what I mean

So glad you finally got one of those power machines in a decent condition - Despite the crazy packaging though

I listens to mine everyday, it is for sure a fine piece of electronic, gotta love those clicking sounds, when operating the servo tapedeck :-D ...

Are those speakers from the other Philips a good improvement or is it only looks - it sure looks mean

Except the look, i think it´s also a win in sounding.
The wooden speakers are stronger than the plastic ones.
And more volumen, they are bigger.

btw: sorry, the D8644 is a "cheap" unit in comparo with the D8734
No idea why PHILIPS mounted the speakers this way... :hmmm:

...and the speaker holders are simply sh*t
2 tiny screws, without lock.
When carrying those compos, shaking awfully around. :dots:
