I want to be prepared for when my trc 935 arrives next week. I am sure I will need to do some clean up. What do you all use to clean up/de-oxidize connections, slider/knob mechanisms etc? Also, what are some things to check for when opening up this box. I am fairly proficient with electronics but have never worked on one of these. Any tips and suggestions are much appreciated. Esp grateful to any 935 owners with specific tips. Thanks everyone and sorry for such a basic question, just want to be blasting this thing asap :stereo:

Use deoxit or contact cleaner but in small amount. Spray into small holes of pots and switches and move switch or pot fully in both directions 20 plus times. Also watch when pulling wires from back of unit as to make sure they are properly put back in same spots, especially not to cross red and black, hot and ground  use of mild soap n water to clean plastic. Use of Qtips to clean small crevices. Also clean tape deck rubber tires and tape head with rubbing alcohol. Recommend demagnatizing tape head also

Boombox Repair/Restoration Kit

And welcome once again to the wonderful world of BOOMBOXERY!!!!
It's a great list for someone looking to repair, clean and restore but items on that list ( solder iron, Multimeter and Fuel tube) are really only needed when repairs are needed... But the cleaning products are very useful ;-)
