Hi all-

So, here's the story: The weather is getting nice, and I have been semi jokingly-threatening my wife that the next time we go for a walk, I was going to carry my D8443. So she called my bluff, and I took about 4 steps and am like, wow, this thing really is heavy. So I left it home.

Now, if only I had a shoulder strap....

Any leads on where I could grab that could be fitted onto a full length carrying handle? I could see myself carrying it messanger bag style, with perhaps some "In the Air Tonight" by Phil Collins playing!

I posted an auction a couple of weeks ago where a seller had two NOS boombox straps. Sorry you missed it. :-/

I got on and use it with my 838 - works great. Thanks again Bobby.

After reading this I was thinking a guitar strap with strap locks would work cool for a boom box.

Strap locks are small buttons that go on the guitar where the strap normally connects. Then on the strap (any strap) there is another attachment point. You press in on the button on the strap and it locks securely into the fixture on the guitar / boom box.

Guitar center has them, any color you want!

Ohh they look very nice Chris! I was looking for a guitar strap to use this year, but ended up making a new one.

My recipe for a hot blaster strap is to take the the two straps off a back pack, sew them together at the top and then use the clips in a 'wrap-around' fashion that goes around the vertical and horizontal part of the handle to stop it moving.

Here's some pix of it on my current carry-to-work box, my GF-9000

It's rock-solid sturdy, I also put a little padding under the top where the strap joins for extra comfort.
As an added bonus the straps had some useless mobile phone pocket that worked out to be the perfect
size for a spare tape!

The homemade route isn't too difficult, if you've access to someone who can sew through the strapping it'll make life a lot easier as it took me a few hours to hand sew all the joins on mine. Good luck!

Rock On.

So, you're saying to drill (or otherwise attach) the strap locks onto the boombox? :sadno:

Otherwise, these are all great ideas. Love Gluecifer's cassette holder! (Did I see a hint of "electro" on that cassette?)
