Hi everyone!
Last time I visited Peter, he gave me his remains of a Crown 850 he used to rescue another one.
I came to find out almost everything is there except for some screws and the antennas. I plugged it in (without speakers built in) and the VUs acted normal according to the functions and everything else gave a reaction.
So I am planning on maybe rescuing it and make it work a bit at least.
I took out the tape deck and all the belts have melted and are like slime on the wheels..UGH.
The motor always makes a loud strange noise when it is running and it looks like some of the black stuff went in it...
Is it possible to rescue the motor?
Or do I need a new one?
Maybe I will modify the tape deck to play MP3s but that would be rather sad I think...it is the brown version of an 850 so it is pretty cool.
If this resto does not work out I will use the front for my regular working 850 .
Help with the motor would be appreciated.
