OK, so you may remember that <StereoPhonic> purchased this box off Ebay:

He lives in Finland, and the seller wouldn't ship to him, so I agreed to receive it instead, and then re-ship it to Finland. Let's just say it arrived in poor shape. Probably the dirtiest box I've ever received in the mail.

The spare tape button was smashed in, one of the grab bars was loose, etc. etc. The seller is a straight-up fool.
Also, ALL EIGHT of the screws on the back are missing.
The only thing holding this box together is a couple of tiny screws inside the tape well.
Does anyone know the size of the back screws?

So anyway, I decided to see how well I could clean up this box. Let me first say it's easy to work on, as there's lots of open space inside. Oh and the spare tape drawer is bolted to the front case, so it just comes out with it. Real easy.

This box has a nice weighted tuner, just like the C100

The tuning strength meter is a conventional type with transparent sides, meaning it would be very easy to mount an LED light to it, either from the top or the bottom....If you desired to do so....

I dusted the speakers (they needed it!), and I polished the center caps. But I recommend that you paint or dye the cones black.

Polishing the tweeter trim pieces.
I didn't wash the grills, because that often causes them to rust.

Polishing the grab bars. These are mounted with screws from the inside of the case.

The knobs, before & after.....

All in all, it came out ok I think. Still could use a little work. I notice I forgot to polish the handle before I took these pics. Oh well!
