Spotted Chrome on GF-777

Does anyone know if there is a way to get rid of these spots and restore the finish on my Gf-777? Everything else works perfectly and looks immaculate, its just the cosmetic plate around the radio tuner.

That is a painted area with letters on it and the paint is all eroded.

Luckily a member here is successful in making a decal for this use.
