I picked up two speakers today proberly car audio but how do i know the impedance?? they have acl-8 can i asume they are 8 ohm!!! Only paid peanuts for them so had to get them not sure what i'll use them for !! did think the GF767 but not sure ,they are 6in and 4in deep so need a big box to put them in and they have very big magnets on them so must be very good at bass

Those aren't car speakers. Those are from (as Don noted) a small high powered late model Aiwa mini components set.

The get the impendance simply get a voltmeter with Ohm resistance capability and touch the two leads to the speakers terminals. Voila!

Keep in mind though, that when conecting your speakers, it's the combination and how they are wired with in line or parallel with resistors, caps, coils or a full crossover setup for the woof, mids, tweets depending on application that will affect what your amplifier will really see. :-)

They might fit the GF-777 in the middle positions but not the outboard positions due to the transformer.

Most speakers will measure a little bit lower DC resistance than their actual operating impedance. Therefore, it's not unusual for 8ohm speakers to measure 6.5 ohms, etc. with DMM.

Those look to be of very good quality. I'd bet the "8" signifies 8-ohms too. Any digital volt meter can tell you the DCR (DC resistance). That isn't the same as impedance but you can extrapolate what that might be. Usually the DCR is lower than the actual impedance. An 8-ohm driver might read 5-6 ohms on a meter, a 4-ohm between mid 2-3 ohms.
