Managed to land a second one of these and wanted to do some custom paintwork on it as an anniversary present for my partner. We've been together two and a half years now and I feel it's a huge failure on my behalf that she doesn't have a boombox yet!

So I wanted to make something special. I've been on a huge bent for the last year or so to recreate galaxies and space scenes in different mediums. For the last 8 months I've been developing something in resin that I'm going to be selling hopefully soon too, but as I've been learning a lot about airbrushing over the last few years I thought I'd try that technique out. After a few experiments with some basics techniques I learned online I worked out what I wanted where and the colours and not too long later it was all rockin!

Really happy with how this turned out and the composition works nicely for the limited space, I think. This is a tester for doing a bigger (read: biggest, well in length) space themed artwork I want to do on another radio, found this experience very encouraging and hoping this opens up more opportunities for airbrush work on custom radios.

Hope you like it!

(PS.. please don't share this around anywhere, at least not for another week, wanted to share on here now it's done but want it to be a surprise for our anniversary next week. Thank you!)

Rock On.

Dude, Glu. That's beautiful. The planets, stars, colors, all of it. Great transformation.

If you have pictures of the process I'd love to see the different stages.
