I think, having owned RV-NB 10 that the sound quality, not necessarily the bass or the volume, but the quality is just so much better and cleaner. I mean the NB 10 was a monster with its bass and such, but the ACS was crap and none of the other settings got it right unless you wanted to listen to Rap or R&B and wanted that much bass. Anyone agree? I like the old ones still. just feel the sound has been refined with this one for sure. It would be nice if wer had a side by side comparison, too :-)

I read many comments about the suckiness of the ACS system on the Kaboom. From the very few that I have heard, the DP-100 gets my vote.

:agree:
My DP-200 oddly enough has milder bass than my NB20 however the overall sound quality and adjustability is better on the 200.

alas i wouldnt have any kaboom.for me they are not representative of the 1980s, and look like 90s machines-all of them-if youre into 90s boxes then they should be for you, otherwise for me they are a no no

  I too am all about 70's and 80's boxes and don't care about the egg (90's) generation with a few mighty exceptions, the Panny Cobras and JVC Kabooms. I don't think the Kabooms look very good but they do have a sort of Bad-Ass aura.

:agree: ...I am all about the square, 1 piece boomboxes...thought I would never even own or want a 3 piece or a kaboom....but after hearing how they sound I now have 2 kabooms and several 3 piece boxes. The kaboom just blows everything away when it comes to bass, just an amazing design and serves a specific purpose...and does it well.... :-D

There are some old school boxes that were bass shy on balance. It seems some manufacturers wouldn't skimp on the mids/highs even if the box sounded imbalanced.I really respect that ! In these cases,a Kaboom run in tandem mifght fill out the bottom end nicely. For this reason I've thought of getting one. Before realizing this I wouldn't have considered a Kaboom as it has no tweeters.

The kaboom is the ultimate tandem box!!...at my daughters last swim party I did a 3 way hookup with the Kaboom, Sony FH7, and M70 and the sound was amazing...plenty of highs, mids and thunderous bass, and the kids got a kick out of the boomboxes... :-D
