Sound comparison video: Sharp GF-9292 v National RX-C45

What??? That little National RX-C45 with those tiny woofers and piezo tweeters has no chance against that Sharp GF-9292 with those big woofers and proper tweeters right!!?? :hmmm:

Watch the video and make up your own mind...... ;-)

Yeah I keep my 9191's for the style, not the sound quality.
For low volume use the National is great but if you take both units outdoors, the Sharp sounds loud and strong where as the National can barely be heard. ;-)

The GF-9292 doesn't really hit its' straps in bass until you crank it like many other GF series boxes.

I love them all!!

Yeah the Sharps are loud, good bass and all, but I don't think they sound very good sitting next to the sofa. The highs aren't very crisp for one thing.

Good comparison! Gonna chime in here.....I HAD a sharp gf-9292 back a few yrs ago.....and was sorely disappointed with its sound quality (muddy), loudness potential (pathetic), stereo separation ( no clear separation). My Panasonic RX-5080 with just a tone control rips the 9292 apart. That Panasonic RX -C45 is a beaut!!

I like the comparison but using the radio maybe, I think the phono input with attenuator can be a disadvantage ,against the line in imput.
in my m70, there is a noticeable difference between the phono input with attenuator and rec / pb line in imput .
indeed beautiful, 9292!!!

I did an audio comparison on FM with the National up against the 9292 and a 9494 and the results were similar with the National still having deeper bass. The RX-C45 sounds more like a AC powered midi system (less power though). I have hooked up TRK-9150 speakers to the National and they sound great. I then hooked up the National speakers to the TRK-9150 and they just sounded ordinary so it's the amp of the National that appears to more responsible for the bassy sound than the type/spec of the speakers!?

i can say for speaker quality the panny wins hands down , now if you were to put a bigger 3 piece panny like the rxc 100 against the 9292 which has the same size woofers then see how fast that sharp loses. i had a gf 8989 and an rxc 45 lets just say i still have the panasonic.
