Hello People

As if things couldn't get any worse for me this year!!

My best & closest friend was diagnosed with a rare cancer, Angiosarcoma on the 10th of October - He died on the 21st of October - No warning although we knew his health was not what it used to be!!

Very aggressive & very quick

No time to travel to Somerset to say goodbye, just 2 horrendously difficult phone conversations towards the end, he leaves a wife & children behind & was just 45 years old!!

I am still in denial at the moment & don't wish to dwell on the subject................

Then 7 days ago some bastard ran over my 18 month old Orange Cat shattering his femur requiring major surgery & a vets bill (still escalating) to make your eyes water

He is so dear to me, my cat & dog are such a big part of my life now I am stuck indoors a lot!!

So today he went back to vet for check up & is doing very well, he is fighter for sure & seems to know he had to rest up as he spends all day snuggling up to us tight on the sofa & between our feet at night, we have a bed at floor level which makes it easy for him to go to litter etc

Obviously I can't buy any more stereo's until I clear vets bill

If only I had insured him, my dog is insured to the hilt - I just never got around to adding him

Lesson learnt!!

anyway, I am coming back on my PC again so will be around & posting a few bits & pieces

Here's my little fighter:

So sorry to hear this, happy your kitty is healing ok!!
I lost a friend, not real close but I knew her from the late 80's/early 90's. She was only 46 and left behind 2 daughters,11,17. Very sad here to.
At least your friend doesn't have to suffer in pain,he's in a better place now.😔😇

So very sorry to hear of the loss of your friend. The good news is your cat looks bright eyed and bushy tailed. He looks like a nice Butterscotch Tabby and a cool cat to me. Tabbies are great cats. Always had a German Shepherd and a black and grey tabby growing up. I like both cats and dogs equally well. Both have their strong points and each are great in their own way. If you keep up the good care for your kitty(like it looks like your doing)he will make full recovery. Cats are tough, and Tabbies live a good long time.Something on the order of 14 to 18 years give or take. So no worries about not checking in. You do what you have to do,to take care of you and yours. We'll keep the boombox home fires burning for you. To you and you cat I say live long and prosper.

Happy to see that kitty is doing well. Hopefully you can move on and remember the good things about your friend. I can't even imagine how that would feel, nor do I want to be on the receiving end of that news. Just shows we aren't here long, so get out and do everything you want!!!!

The year hasn't been kind to you but the things that matter most will get better. That's one lovely moggie with such beautiful eyes.

I'm never really good at figuring out how to say sorry for what you're going through.

But sorry for what you're going through. I'm sorry about your friend. I'm glad your cat is doing better. I always hate to hear people say, "Why would you spend that much on an animal? Put it down."

But those are people who don't consider pets to be family.

I'd have done the same as you.
