Just gotta love the vid although I have no idea what the blue & silver thingy was at 00:46? I didn't notice my favourite of all time, the Sony WM-7 cassette Walkman, and the newer stuff has left me way behind which is understandable given that Sony probably has 100's of R&D folk working on gawd knows whatever next and there's only little ol' me at this end unable too keep up with the pace of it all! :yes: :-D

The NW-MS7 Walkman is about 20 years old now, but looks like it's from the future. :yes:

Ah, it's a 'memory stick Walkman'! I bought a Sony HandyCam about 20yrs-22-yrs ago and this also used a memory stick with............................... wait for it................. (drum roll)............................a WHOLE 8 megs of memory! :w00t: :yes:

Sony really had a smash hit with the Walkman. They thought it was going to flop when they considered it for the mass market. They figured that people wanted to share their music not listen in isolation. They had their fair share of opportunities that they lost out on in the past do to poor decisions and the lack of fully grasping what consumers wanted but the Walkman saved them.

I always tended to gravitate towards Sony when it came to portable music...not so much with their boomboxes. While others followed suit with portable cassette players, it's hard to beat the inventor. IMO Sony had the edge of having the most reliable portable machines.
