Evening chaps - new box for me to add to my very small collection. Fully working, lovely condition, with remote and separate matching CDP.
Can I ask a few questions as I’m struggling to get much info from the web.
My UK version does not come with the horn speakers, where these JDM only?
Does anybody have a link to a manual or sales literature, would like to read up more on the various features. Cheers! Also, forgot about the front graphics, many version on the web have far bigger graphics for the model number on the front, my one is very subtle, where there different versions of this box?

I’ve got one of these with the horned speakers and the larger font and it’s a 240v.
Ive never considered it a boombox in any way because even though it’s got a handle it doesn’t take batteries and it’s too heavy to be portable. It’s really a small hI-fi or compo. I can’t imagine many of these being played out on the street or beach back in the day, you’d need a bloody long extension lead! These were almost £1000 I think In the late 80s.

Thanks for the replies, I agree it’s shear size, weight, cost and lack of DC power would have kept the 909 units indoors. I suppose that is why I would like to hunt down some sales literature to see if they paint the picture of how they were designed to be used. It was a flagship model, but what a flagship!
I do have a FH-7 mkIII with the DC power amp section, so this will take batteries (12 no. D cells) but again it tips the scales at 25kg and would have cost £££

designed to be used in yuppie apartments back in the day. I would of thought. Once you add the optional turntable or CD player the handle becomes redundant anyway.

Sorry for thread derail, but I've got a couple of these non-portable 'boomboxes' - would there be a dedicated thread for them ? My search skillz are weak... I'm a noob here.
