Who wins? the three piece killers! Sorry Oldy I cant find a ultra rare CP-7/CP-9 and I KNOW THEY ROCK!!!

So if it came down to a FH-7 II or PC-550 which one would dominate?

i wrote a thread like this a while back.
its hard to pick one because they are both really great but......
the pc550 is louder the tape deck is just slightly better.
the fh7 has better sound tho i think at normal levels.
its a really tough call tho .
the deck on the fh is also extremely good.
both of them have very good eqs .
hard to pick one. you need both of them :w00t:
the tuner on the pc550 is fantastic, but even tho i hate digital tuners for the most part the sony has very good reception.

one thing about the sony tho is the digital tuner can be rather annoying as there is no presets so you lose your place once you turn it off.

try asking for the 55 instead of the 550
cuz --members that have both..... claim the 55 speakers sound better than the 550 speakers.

i think that i would say that there is a difference between the 550 i have now and the first one i had.
it seems like the first one i had was a earlier model and i seem to recall there being more metal on its chassis.
the labelling on it i think was a bit different too.
i think that the big fisher three pieces are amazing tho. i mean when i heard the one james has i was blown aways.
the size of it is over the top as well.
those are just amazing boomboxes. as much as it might surprise some people i think i would trade both the fh7 and the jvc box for one of those massive fisher boxes. that is saying a lot but they are incredible sounding boomboxes.

Not if you put the 2 AA batteries in the tuner. I know it's easy to forget those since you're powering up the Sony on AC but if you put 2 eveready lithium AA cells in there, they "might" last forever, or close to it.

super i wast not even aware i could put two aa batteries in that thing to power the memory.
i am going to have to poke around with it and chuck some in. still tho there is no presets on my fh7. just the bigger two.

Very very true but I listen to 1, maybe 2 stations so for me, it's really no bigge. The tuner dial, when the backlight isn't burnt out, however, is bitchin.

As for the memory backup, yeah, on the backside of the tuner, there is a small battery compartment.

Super I think that is the first time I heard you say "Bitchin" normally its diodes, capacitors, transistors, etc. :w00t: :w00t: :w00t:

Seriously thanks you guys for all your input on these boxes, I value your opinions very much and take them all into consideration.

My new must have list is.....

PC-550
FH-7 MK II
WF-939Z

and... a certain WX1 and maybe a couple Pannys....

i think the fh7 is maybe in the top five hitech looking boxes.

the back lit tuner display is wicked but.
those eq leds also rock.
