SONY CFS-77

So today I picked up this Sony CFS-77 from a man who had it since new. I didn't know how big this thing was till I saw it in person. Everything works but needs a serious bath!! The volume is a lil tricky but i'm sure our boy Lopez can clean it up for me. Speaking of Lopez he also sold me a mini Panasonic witch i can't leave alone. Love it's sound and works great behind bars at work. Not even gonna say what he gave it away for! Even gave him extra cuz I didn't have change!!!

Yeah, the Sony CFS-77 and CFS-99 are really surprisingly big when you see them in person. They are nice boxes too. I don't know about the 77 but the 99 is a loud mutha!

Whoa!! Have been playing with "her" and she sounds nice and full bodied! VU meters dancing like my own little private dancer and I'm loving every minute of it. Not a boomer like the 777 but her impact and presence is killer. I'd like to hear her siblings in comparison to mine cuz it's not bad at all. Gotta tinker with the sliders cuz they're doing what they wanna do but very good sound over all. Wiped her down and she doesn't look that bad, will decide later if I should taker apart for a full restoration and cleaning. Solid piece!! I lucked out since starting this hobby and am happy with the support Mike (Lopez) has been giving me. Thanks guys and to those who started this site!!!

I really like the sony cfs 77 I like how the speakers look then the shape on the the top is differnt great box in my opinon

Love the look of those boxes... They've kinda got the appearance of being made from a block of solid steel.

The coaxial speaker look is a cool touch too.

(dont worry, its just flour, it fit the 80's theme)

OMG that picture is great!!!! Yea I take that Panny to work with me at Rikers Island. My fellow officers and I jam to it or listen to the movies through it via my Macbook. Thanks to Lopez for selling that piece to me AND hand delivering it to me!!

I'm having an issue getting rid of some spots on the shell of the radio. They appear to be like oil spots that settled in. Anybody know how to remove them? The sliders (volume,tone,balance) don't respond really well either. anybody have a cure for that or should i just take her in for repair? Thanks for the replies guys!!

wow nice sonys i also have the 77 and the 66,88 and maybe if i get lucky the 99,, the c50 panny is also a great 3 piece mini which is one of my favorite..enjoy....
