I have just completed the restoration of a Sony CFS-5L. The paint was not good so I decided to paint the grills and main front chassis in silver and the rear in dark grey. I kept the black behind the grills. The cassette cover window took some polishing but I finally got most of the scratches out. Technically it only required the pots to be cleaned and the power supply lead to be fitted with a new connector. The battery compartment was in a bad way and the cover clips were broken so this was glued in place before painting. So DC input power only now.
