Have a chance to acquire a rare Sony CFD-W888 and I need an expert opinion from you guys. Is it a good performing unit ? Is it better than the famous FH-7 ? I respect your thoughts guys on this. 1607818670406.png

Thanks for the quick reply bro (as usual) :-). This model , same as other cfd series, has DC operation too. I was just wondering, many comments on other sites says it can go loud and clean but the specs says it's just 8 watts x 2ch. rms at 10% THD. :-/. Quite a rare unit , it's bnew price is around 110,000 Yen.

Most portables will only offer 9.5w rms p/c maximum my friend....this seems like a nice unit so maybe get her if she is cheap

the sony fh 909 is 50w p/c rms as a comparison but part of this hobby is just taking the plunge and enjoying what you get

if everyone was like me they would just buy the boxes i have in my collection lol

it is true though only good quality sound matters to me but it's taken years of research buying/selling to achieve what i have now buddy :-) :beer2:

It just so happened that a Sony FH909r is on sale now in our area for $220 in good condition. Quite tempting but the price approaches a good proper used home set up already. :-/ I might just grab a Panasonic rx-dt77 also selling here for a whopping $18.
