I promised myself I'd do another shoot as soon as I got my TC-999 up to scratch, and although I still need to replace the bottom deck's door, the rest of her is done, so I thought I'd do a shoot with here and a few of my newer radios as well as some that have been in the collection for quite a while that I've never photographed properly before.
First off a couple of minis!
My very nice cosmetically, QT-70, I've even got the box for her, shame she doesn't go unfortunately.
My mint (got the box too) QT-77. Absolutely perfect condition, one of the most classic of mini designs for me.
Beautiful chrome!
National RX-C52. You don't see these posted much, but boy howdy are they an amazing radio. The amount of features crammed in this oversized mini is truly a work of genius. Love the design of this one, super classy.
Not many full size radios that givr you an illuminated Dolby logo! The sound matches the design: clean and detailled.
My favourite mini, the Sanyo 7880k, as previously seen in the Freebie thread. One of Sanyo's finest efforts at mini design.
I originally saw Craig NZ Boom's FW-18 and fell in love instantly. He was then kind enough to send me one!! That one is performing duties as the kitchen radio in my house and then I came across another on ebay. Virtually in brand new condition, this is a brilliant piece of 80s audio design.
Thanks to Norm Super Duper I have a passive radiator in my J88/CS-880 now!! Thanks Norm! This is one awesome radio and deserves all the kudos it gets from other collectors. Sound, size and design are pure Aiwa.
Mine's in very pristine condition, almost like new!
One of the earliest radios I picked up in my collection (maybe number 3 or 4?) was this Sanyo 620K. I love this radio for sentimental reasons now, but it's not really given much service on here. I think it's a wonderful box with good sound and some individual design.
The angled top looks great and really shows off the great LED meter and tuner graphics. This is one of my favourite tuner scale designs.
My favourite TV box that I own is the Sharp Tri-Mate. Unlike a lot of TV boxes this actually sounds very nice, I think the sound is better on this than most of the similarly sized Sharps I've got. Awe side bars, ala a RISING 20/20 and the chrom speaker trims are pure BOSS.
When Chris showed off the Yorx BP-1000 a friend found for him I instantly fell in love and managed to get one through Norm SuperDuper. Thanks again Norm!! I love this box, it's everything about collecting boomboxes that I love. Graphics, design and gimmickery!! Three decks that allow you to play continuously from the two on the bottom to the removable walkman is absolute genius.
Superb! And in very nice condition, all working and immaculate cosmetically.
And here's my latest labour of love. Bought off Rambo Estrada who originally bought it from Hugo DripTip is this (now) lovely Conion Technisonic TC-999. Theres been a lot of work done on her. For starters, as with most TC-999's, the gold the gives this radio all her character had worn off over time. I'm convinced this was a flaw in the manufacturing that it doesn't survive. I formulated a way to remedy this, after a LOT of expended time and money (see my process here: viewtopic.php?f=47&t=11211 ) and over the last few weeks have replaced all the gold on all the switches, knobs and speaker trims. I'm really happy with how it's turned out, and as soon as I can fabricate a door to go on her (this one came with a C-126 door) she'll be 100% complete.
A nice close up of this drop dead gorgeous radio.
And as a nice little bonus, I now have all three of the jumbo Conion onepiecers!! TC-999, C-126 and C-100F. It's been a dream of mine since I started collecting to have this trinity of blasters and the three of them looked DAMNED impressive in person stacked up like this! Having all three is something I'm super proud of!
Had to take share another!!
Thanks for looking/reading guys!
Rock On.
