I have been pretty lame about updating my photos here. Here's some boxes I've picked up so far this year.
First is this pretend Kaboom. Not JVC but GPX.
Everything is in working order. Sound not to bad, but not that great either. No line in and no tone controls other than the bass boost button. This is my daughters favorite. She uses it to play the few CDs she has.
Speaking of JVC
Both tapes work and it sounds great. Very heavy compact box. The LED is dead but you can tune in stations blindly. It doesn't run to well on batteries, because it keeps shorting some where. It must think the AC plug is in. One of the equalizers is chipped off but still works. An OK box, but it does not have a line in.
Goodwill had this box last month.
Came with some nasty leaky batteries. The guy at the counter removed them for me at least. It was very dirty and I still could do a better job in the battery area. Works great and just needs a new antenna. The volume sliders are crackly. I can't get off the price and date that Goodwill marked it with. I guess it will always have to be $7. And it does have a line in.
Here's another Emerson that I bought new back in 01' to use at a birthday party.
It's the only box that I own currently, that I am the original owner. Sounds pretty good and has great battery life. It's also the only box I have that uses C-cells. I still don't own any C rechargables yet so this box rarely gets out. This is my only CD only box as well. My daughter used this box a lot before we got the GPX Kaboom thing.
