it does have a metal loop for a strap - -

and we cant use handles as the 'must have' criteria -
or we have to eliminate the great crown 850

however --that little panny model -
has no metal antenna --
and those phone jack wires --used as antennas - are
imho = a no-go

No handle, no antenna(s) and, most importantly, there is no cassette door window to show off the reel-tape! That's the final straw!!! :annoyed:

I vote "no boombox" for this one....

One redeeming factor is that it appears to at least have a 3-segment VU meter....

i hummed and hawed over this at the value village a couple weeks back. seemed like a pretty cool walkman but i am just not feeling the boombox vibe over this one. i passed on it in the end.

The line between walkman and boombox is definitely fuzzy. Some units in the middle are more like "crossovers."
