I want to put new fuse, it is the 32mm 4A. I checked with the local electonics store, and they asked me whether I need "slow" of "fast" one. I was unable to answer and I can't find that info in the service manual.

So, which one should I put in, "slow" of "fast" one? What is the difference anyway, any significance for this kind of device? Shouldn't they all of same amperage burn out in same time?

Thanks in advance!

The guy in local service told me that fast ones, burn 10 time faster than slow ones of same amperage. Still, one needs to know which type goes in specific unit, since it is not even similar, at least when it matters reaction time.

My money is Its gonna be a fast fuse.

Don't chance a slow burn one. The slow ones that I have for my arcades have ceramic rod through the middle and the fuse wire is spooled around the ceramic rod. The fast ones usually just a thin (at that amperage) wire.

Thank you.

I'll put fast, since such type was in every audio/video device I've seen. If it goes off, than I'll put slow one and forget about it.

If in servise manual next to fuse is T letter, its suppose to be slow fuse. Sometimes used in power up circut, because when turning up theres high probably of high amperage in microseconds that burns fast fuses :)
