SK 909, restoring the belts (changing the belts)...

Hey all 'a' y'all,


So, yep... When I got the SK, from a member (mainly the other area), all was working fine (the ex-ownwer said that the belts had been changed). After a few weeks the tape would stop in the middle of the cassette. I could turn it back on but would eventually stop again.


Well, it turned out that the main belt was to wide for (at least one) of the wheels... This one:

It was flipping over that wheel and making 'Play' stop. So I went ahead and changed the main belt and the others, and gave it a good internal clean/dusting.


Here is a pic of the SK open, from the back... and the two screws that are "Hidden" to take off the front (well made Bbox!):

And last little thing I found interesting is... To remove the tape mech part, this section of the battery compartment had to be removeved (held by 3 screws):

It is now back up and Jammin'!!!!!!!!

All that is it done and it's jammin' again!!!!!!!!!!!!

nice work man , that box is a pita to work on .

never seen any box with 3 heat sinks in it like that , robust construction :-D thats bad ass :thumbsup: .

Kool! I was diggin those heat sinks as well. Now we all know that there is something beefy lurking about on that amp noard. :-D
