I found this Silver SR5000, a beautiful mini boombox. Sadly the little brushes / feet from the treble slider broke off on one side making it sound a bit muffled on one speaker.

The slider is marked 'ALPS 100k CX2' and a 3 underneath (The bass slider next to it it is marked ALPS 100k BX2). The PCB is marked with 'TREBLE 100k (C)'. I can't find a replacement, the design seems to be rare. Can anybody point me to where I can find a replacement or what to search for?

I cramped a piece of metal into the slider but it didn't help at all. Maybe the replacement piece has the wrong resistance or something? Any tips on how to repair the slider would be much appreciated.

Please, I would love to have it working properly!

I believe the JVC PCX series uses the same slider controls.also the pcv series . I have also seen these sliders on some of the big black boomboxes . I think your best bet though is to try to see if you can find ones from a JVC PCX or PCV model which are cheap to buy.
