Those that know are aware that this is the arguably most serious of all the JVC Kabooms, with (oh-joy) properly adjustable treble, 52W bi-amped output & all sorts of drum-pad silliness.
At my wife's 50th birthday party, my one of these ran at full power for hour after hour, absolutely hammering out tunes with plenty of bass, distortion-free, at proper party volume levels. No Bluetooth speaker I've heard would've got close. This is a 20-odd-year-old machine & it did not miss a beat - now that's reliability. Cannot recommend it highly enough...

I read that there can sometimes be a fault with the power lead switch (easily fixed) so if you can find one that doesn't power up but works on batteries, they are worth a shot. Downside is that you'll need to travel to pick up as postage will be expensive/risky due to its very hefty weight.

get the rdmd5 paul it;s even better with deeper bass and treble control and doesn't have those horrible drum pads etc
