Sharp VZ2000 record deck removal

Hi All

Before i lose my sanity completely can someone please tell me if the service instructions for the VZ2000 record deck removal are wrong?

I’ve removed the two crosshead outer screws securing the record deck.

I’ve partially closed the door and pushed down as hard as it is possible to go on the springs without breaking the door hinges off but the actual mech still won’t release and fall forwards.

I’ve even gone so far as to remove these ‘acoustic isolators’ in the hope of getting the frame of the deck to move but still no joy.

Just what am i doing wrong?

Never mind. It’s now out.

searching through the forum I found another posting asking the same question.

And like his VZ mine was still fitted with the original turntable packing bolts as well. Whodathought!

First off, find the pdf which has the full breakdown instructions. This is a breakdown done by a member with photos.
There are a number of things to be careful of.
