Those white function switches need a good cleaning, especially the FM one. There was lots of room to access the interior parts. Belt replacements were easy. With new speakers the unit sounded powerful and nice. Amp is approximately 35 watts per channel.

What sort of problem are you having, Pete?
Hello sorry for the delay in replying.
My main problem is trying to get the turntable motor to work as the plug which pushes into it is only supplying 8 volts which is clearly not enough.
I've replaced a couple of capacitors which had leaked and tested a dozen more which are fine but replaced anyway.
The motor itself works with direct power of 15volts so the search goes on thanks for your interest. 20240827_202839.jpg

Just had a quick look at the circuit diagram for a VZ3500, it looks like the supply rail to the phono motor is across socket CNP507 pins 1 and 2 (violet and blue) and should be a maximum of 9.6v, IC 501 controls the direction of the motor control circuit.

Hi again guys just one more question for anyone that might help. As you can see from the chaos does anyone know if the turntable has to be back in the unit to spin as I have power from the board and power to the motor which I know works but when I press play nothing happens.
The switches have all been cleaned and receiving power i can't understand why the motor doesn't spin .20241019_110535.jpg

This isn’t like a horizontal turntable where you can place a tonearm onto a rotating platter. Vertical turntables probably won’t spin unless it recognizes that the door is closed, likely by means of a switch or sensor.

Ahhhh thank you for that it's been doing my fruit in for ages and having it back inside the unit may be the answer in fact it's the only thing I can do now .
Thanks for the reply

Was playing mine in the garage this weekend. Love the stereo separation this puts out. I have it set with Infinity IL 10 speakers. I have another in the walk in closet (original) for my girlfriend and yet another one still in the uhaul shipping box I bought like 10yrs ago and never opened (used from ebay) in the garage. These units are pretty cool.
