Hey guys,

I am the proud new owner of a Sharp VZ 2000 and thought I would reach out! After searching for the last couple of years I have finally managed to track one down in good nick. I was told that it is in working order although I will need to get this checked.

I purchased the unit in Australia and had it shipped to my brother who lives there (I am based in New Zealand). I obviously want him to fully test the unit although it didn't come with a power cable. I'm sure a generic cable can be used but thought I would double check here? The last thing that I want is some damage due to incorrect power cable. Can someone help?

Thanks
Jono

Thanks for your reply :-D

So is there an actual voltage switch on the box? Where abouts? Sorry for my ignorance I just want to give my brother clear instructions.

Australia and NZ have the same power supply and wall plugs, so a generic cable should fit it, Jaycar or Dick Smith should have a matching one.

There are a couple of different types, make sure you get the right one for the box, it won't damage it it just won't fit properly. Mostly they are figure 8 types, but I will check for you on mine when I get home.

If there is a voltage switch it will be right next to where the power lead fits the box. I can't remember if my VZ 2000s have switchable voltage, I'll check when I get home and post back. If there is, in NZ it will need to be switched to 240 Volts.

Here is pic of plug area. Almost any type power cord will work because inlet plug is rectangular. Right next to it is the voltage selector ;-)
