hi I have a sharp vz 2000 the problem I have is that I changed all the belts in the unit, and now plays like it should, but it won't record anymore, do I have to put everything back like the two half's as I've only tried it through headphones and tried to record from the radio ive left it in two halfs as it needs a clean, and I took the record player out as thats now working 100% but now when pressing the record function the record level,s don't move, and nothing is recorded, but when playing a cassette the levels are fine,im just hoping that when it finally ass dose back together the record function will work on the cassette

If I remember correctly there is a long spring that attaches to the back of the cassette mech record bar to the main board if you forgot to connect it , it will do exactly like you mention.

thank you so much, you certainly know your stuff as I never mentioned that I left that bit of, i was really worried that I may of pulled a wire of the recording head or broke a wire, but thank you again
