Hi all
Does anyone have a Sharp GF9696 and are able to let me know what the diameter of the wire used and the size of the holes on the speaker grill mesh please?
I am looking to fabricate a paid for my 9696 and currently looking for a suitable metal mesh to use would
Like to get them as close to the originals as possible.
many thanks

The wire mesh grill edges are secured in a rubber sheath and held on the groove around the speaker front. The rubber edges are friction locked in the groove. Every four corners have two bends at 45 degrees.
It would be great if you can make those grills. It might need a mold press to form it correctly.
I can measure the wire thickness and hole sizes. I need to pull them out from the shelves.
Not my pic...

I have often thought of doing this, but with larger holes so I can see the speakers & chrome better

Thanks. Would be great if you are able to take the measurements for me. I am thinking of making a former for the mesh and for the rubber trim either using some existing rubber channel, I have found a trim that might work, just waiting for a sample to be delivered or perhaps 3D printing using a flexible filament. More than happy to share the results.

If possible could you also tell me the dimensions of the badge please, as I plan to make that as well. Thanks

Looking at the photos, with the measurements looks like the mesh hole size is approx 1.25mm. are you able to check please.
Also lastly if it is not too much trouble how deep are the speaker grills? (including the rubber trim). Really appreciate the help, many thanks
