A few days back, I finally managed to pick up this boomer that I won off ebay a few months ago. As you can see, condition is quite distressed but it actually works (no, really even tape, but not brilliant - very hungry).

I'll be taking a couple bits from my 'already depleted' donor box for this one. But I can't really complain as it cost less than $20 USD. :-)

Antennae are always difficult to get on most boxes, but if there are any out there, I am certainly interested. I would also be interested in spares for this model if available. Anyway, here's some pics.

Cheers

$79.00 USD really ain't bad for a 9494. If I can get this one looking reasonable, I'll be very happy.
I'll be keeping an eye on your progress too Ghettoboom767. I know I'll learn some tips.

Hi Brownlow, thanks for asking, needing the AC receptacle,
rear case screws,and of course antennas-even 1
would help.
Oh and the spring for the wheel tensioner on
the cassette-black wheel that meets the capstan-
little spring.
That's about it!
I've just about done-have lots of photos so far
but not at a regular computer so I can't post yet.
Just waiting to get the correct color paint to
paint my woofers.

Then I can assemble!! :-)

Oh if you have an extra handle my 9696 will love that! :-D

If you have any of these parts I'll gladly purchase
them from you.
I only have 1 9494 so I'm limited on parts.
Thanks and good luck with your resto!

BTW-I just love the "Jimmy/Frank Method" full disassemble
and bath the case, works and cleans beautifully!!!! :surf:

A little update, just a couple more pictures to upload. Some good old water treatment :-D

I have also received some replacement belts for the 9494 that I'll fit as well.

For some reason the speaker grills came out quite easily. I'll take that :-) The interior is filthy. I haven't had time to strip it yet - but I will.

Cheers
