hey :-)

check this ... i use adapters and ten pieces 2750 mah rechargeable aa - batteries. (rechargeable-) d cells are too expensive for me so i think this idea is good. this adapter allows to use normal "aa" size batteries in devices that need actually d-cells. the radio has been running for 9 hours at 40% of the volume. loudness is on, bass and treble turned up full, i use a mp3-player with built-in fm-transmitter.

the adapter:

sorry my english is awfully bad, i am from bavaria ...

...welcome to the site gf9292...thanks for the tip. I will look for some of those, I hope they are available in the states. It would be interesting to see how they compare in power output and time of usage.

Welcome aboard, GF-9292! :afro:

I definitely need to find some of those adapters. AA batteries are way cheaper than D size.

Welcome to the site, hang on and have fun and thanks for sharing the info.

Now I don't mean to piss on anybodies celebration but the D cells have up to 4 times more power at roughly 10,000 to 11,000 mAh than AA's at 2750 mah so battery life will be significantly shorter and there won't be nearly as much power to drive the amps otherwise it will work.

Right in the middle! I live in Kentucky now  I have been here since 2002  I did live in Virginia for a while before heading westward :surf: I specifically remember St.Stephens cathedral. :angelic:

Wahnsinn! FYI: Jens (aka Aiwa or TPR on S2G) is from Bavaria too, just southwest of Nuernberg, in the area of Roth/Hilpoltstein. The last time I was in Germany we were able to have a short coffee together to say hello and talk boomboxes for a bit.

How cool to have so many Bavarians in the house! Makes me want to paint my M70 in blue and white diamond pattern like the Bavarian flag. (ok, maybe not....)

Servus....
