i have a sharp gf 9191 box and the left speaker output is very low. the preamp is ok as the meters are reading level both sides. its not the stereo wide switch as ive seen people say. the left output is very tinny like you would here just from the tweeter only. but that's what you hear coming out of speaker. ive checked the speaker and its working fine. now has anyone come across this problem on a sharp gf 9191. the box it self is mint and so is the inside

it could be any number of problems, some say it can be poor solder joints on the main PCB or the Potentiometers. Its just a matter of trial and error.

i just cant think hopey what is causing it. there are no fusible resistors in it. i was hoping there was going to be some. because it sounds like a resistor has blown with the sound being so quite. but that's not the case

hopey. ive done all that. cleaned all the switches aswell. theres no more to check apart from components. i'm baffled why it went like this in the first place. it was playing perfect then the left output just went quiet with a very tinny sound

The record pots are the same as the volume pots you can swap and see if this fixes the faulty channel. Once you remove them from the PCB you can check resistance with a multimeter.
