Sharp GF-9191 Motor problem

My first box (gf-9292) is now almost done, so back to the shop where I bought it and found this beauty.

The cosmetic condition looks nice, so I took her home to give her some power but nothing happened. After opened I found that the fuse near the power outlet was burned out.

Update: Everything works perfect except the cassette deck which blow the fuse when play is pressed. See post below.

- The antennas doesn't look like original, at least one of them? So a I will look for new ones.
- Counter belt is missing. I will order another kit from nikonfoo on eBay and change them all + pinch roller and tube.
- There was just 4 screws left in the back, so 4 more is necessary.

If someone got any of the parts above, please let me know!

Hi again, without any real knowledge I think I was able to localize the problem to be the motor... I took it apart by following "Old School" on Youtube and without having the motor connected I was able to press the play without having the fuse blown. What I could differentiate from the video on Youtube is that my motor is missing a part (see image) otherwise I have no idea how to check what the problem could be.

I would love to be able to get this box cassette deck working as it will be birthday gift for my brother, either by fixing it by myself or get a new motor if any one have a spare? All help are very very appreciated.

Well done on pulling the motor down. Seems strange to blow the fuse I would think there is a short to ground. Can you test the insulation resistance of the motor windings to ground?

Thanks, it was quite easy and I guess the motor was pulled down before cuz of missing tape and the part I mentioned above. The box is now at my brothers place so I will ask him to test it during the weekend if he feel safe enough to do it, otherwise I will be there in 2 weeks to do it myself. :-)

I might have a motor for you. But I need to know if it is CW or CCW rotation. Anyone know?
That would be awesome! I have no idea if it is CW or CCW but I will open up the 9292 and check during the weekend (they got the same motor right?) if no one else already knows.
Thanks!!

I’ve got a working deck motor here for a GF-9696. Not sure if they are compatible with the 9191 but you can have it for the cost of shipping if it will work for you. :-)774D5E79-1214-469C-9CAF-D39380B337E8.jpeg51067388-5E6B-475C-A4F9-8A2102BB621E.jpeg

You are correct that the left antenna isn't original. The right one is, but it's missing its tip.

Just had the 9292 apart and the motor is CW as I'm trying to show in the photo :-D

Thanks man, if anyone could confirm if it's working or not then I'm more than happy to pay the shipping costs!
