SHARP GF-9090 - Microtuning wheel not working

Hello,

I have a SHARP GF-9090. The main tuning wheel moves the tuning needle but the little micro tuning wheel in the center does nothing (turning it does not move the tuning needle). Any idea what happened inside and what can be done to fix it? Is there a tuning string for the microtuning wheel, or only one string for both the main and microtuning wheels?

I am completely new to this boombox world as I found it in my parents basement. I can fix stuff myself so I am confident I could repair it

It does not move the tuning needle. It makes some small adjustments to the circuitry to effect small changes to the tuning circuit, and it primarily only works on SW bands.
