hey guys nice to be on again it has been a while but I have been very busy. I have been obsessed with getting a sharp gf-777z boombox the problem is could not find one. Until I found this guy on craig list I contacted him and he told that he wanted 450$ for his because he said it was in mint condition do you think this is a good deal yes or no and explain to me why or why not.

If it is in actual "mint" condition, maybe $450. But, true mint condition would be like it just came out of the box, which it probably won't be. More than likely, it is "minty". Be sure to go over the boombox with a fine-tooth comb. Make sure everything is operational, antennas are original, tapes play at correct speed, no corrosion on aluminum, etc. Even then, I'd counter-offer with $350 and see where it goes from there - but that's just me. ;-)

Good luck!

$450? I paid less than half that amount for mine and tape 2 is on the low side. (thanks again to Lopez!)But it's crazy loud and bass happy!! Just make sure to have your poker face on. Try not to grin too hard when you see it or else he won't let you haggle him!! Crank it hard and listen to the mids carefully because they're usually the ones to blow out first. I've replaced them on my 767 and I'm looking for a set for my 777 as well. Look for rips in the surrounds and all that. Make sure the grills stay in firm. If not then you have room to haggle. He stated mint. Now prove him wrong. I have some parts left if you need anything. Good luck!
