Sharp GF-777 problem?

Hi everyone.

Today, I have experienced a minor problem with my 777.
Most of the time when I turn it on, I felt like the left side is not as loud as the right side. After playing around with the balance and adjustment knobs, it turned out the the big speaker on the very left side does only seem to work very very silently. I can feel it moving when I hold my hand in front of it but all I can hear is the tweeter.
However, sometimes it works when I turn it on and it seems to be randomly. The switches are not responsible for it.

i was wondering if it might be a switch at the back of the box?
Or might the speaker be dead? :'-(
Or what else could it be?

It does not sound that bad when it is loud but it really started to bug me as I got to know it. This thing has been in the freaking repair shop for 3 months!
I will call them tomorrow anyway but maybe it is something I can fix myself...i.e. a switch on the back. I just don't want to drag that massive thing out of my wall for now unless it is not an issue I can fis on the back.

If you can take a look inside you can start to check for dry joints on the speaker side right the way through the board over to the power switch. Try using a multimeter to test for continuity across the speaker connections. If you have a soldering iron you could try another speaker on there for testing to try and eliminiate the possible area of the problem. A lot of the time it is a dry joint, a solder point that has dropped off.

Thanks a lot but I am scared of opening this huge thing .
The idea sounds good though and it sounds like it is basically okay. I will call the repair shop tomorrow and they can do that for a low buck or actually for free, the kept it a freaking 3 months .
