Got a Sharp GF-3939 today.

It's one of the many GF- series models.

The GF-3939 is from 1985.

The Sharp GF-3939 has:
-auto stop cassette deck
-AM/FM radio
-volume and tone control
-2 way 4 speaker system (speaker and tweeter)

Here's the Stereo80s.com entry for my Sharp:

Despite not having a graphic EQ, the GF-3939 sounds quite OK.

Cool! I didn't even know that the GF series numbers went that low. Nice find. :-)

Some info about the GF-3939 internals:
-comes apart very easily (uses philips head screws)
-tuner section uses a dial cord instead of a flexible plastic rack
-tweeters in speaker section look to be of the piezoelectric type
-speakers aren't easily removable-connectors appear to be soldered to the main board
-cassette mechanism is easily accessible
