yo wassup guys so i got this sears & roebuck boombox at a swap meet for like 25 bucks and was planning on fixing and pimpin it out i was wondering if i could get some help with my project on here, im new to electronics and the custom boombox scene but i found this forum and thought this is the best place to ask.
my plan is to put in a rechargeable battery pack that can get 5-8 hours of charge and to add a cd drive in the side if you guys think thatd fit, and id also like to take out anything on the inside that i dont need and replace anything for better energy conservation where applicable.
one thing id like to note is that 3 things inside are broken right now that i gotta fix,
for one the black plastic frame that held the cassette mechanism in broke a bunch of different little posts off, and i think i lost some of the pieces, i dont know if i can just full scrap that and diy some mounting for the cassette mechanism or if i gotta buy a replacement and if so i was wonderin if anybody knows where to get em
then the second thing was that the play head was stuck in the play position on the cassette mechanism, idk whats up with that but im kinda new to the diy electronics repait and couldnt find anything on youtube on how to fix that.
the third is that one of the big speakers i wasnt gettin any output from on the radio, idk if that could only be a blown speaker or if that could be anything else in the line between that.
oh also the strap hangers on the sides of the case were all rusted so i was trying to get them off and one of the screws was stripped, i wanna get it off so i can clean the rust off and get a good screw in there.
ill get some pics of all the internals once i get home and everything so you guys can see, theres 3 circuitboards inside and im wondering if all 3 are needed or if i could take out anything and replace it with something more energy efficient or compact. i think ones like an amplifier and ones like somethin related to the power
any manuals or information would be a massive help
